December 27, 2002
All the conflicting emotions and unforgettable experiences of the teenage years come to life in Univision’s new daytime novela, ‘Clase 406’ (Classroom 406), which will debut on the Network on Monday, January 27, 2003, and air Monday-Friday, 3:00 – 4:00 pm ET/PT (2:00 – 3:00 pm Central/Mountain).
Produced by Televisa and starring Jorge Poza, Iran Castillo, Sherlyn and Dulce Maria, ‘Clase 406’ follows the lives of a group of high school students who share much more than a classroom. Caught in that wonderful and turbulent phase called adolescence, these youngsters face many challenges and experience important personal milestones as they make their way toward adulthood.
At the center of the story is Francisco Romero (Jorge Poza), a teacher recently arrived at the high school, who, during his daily contact with his new students, gradually discovers that to gain their respect and make a difference in their lives, he must be much more than an authority figure: he must become their friend. As the novela unfolds, Francisco will witness heart-rending events in the lives of these young people. In addition to being their teacher, his caring nature impels him to assume the roles of counselor, doctor, psychologist, protector and, at times, even detective.
‘Clase 406’ realistically chronicles the many facets of adolescence in the 21st century. Confronted with crucial decisions and difficult situations, while at the same time experiencing joy, having fun and falling in love, these teens tell a wonderful story that appeals to audiences of all ages, and most especially to young viewers.
