July 4, 2003
Univision Network debuts “El Manantial” (The Spring), a story of passion and revenge between two rival families in the small town of San Andres. “El Manantial,” produced by the renowned Carla Estrada, premieres on the network on Monday, August 4, 2003, and will air weekdays from 7 pm to 8 pm ET/PT (6 pm to 7 pm Central/Mountain Time).
Recipient of TV y Novelas 2002 Best Telenovela of the Year, “El Manantial” captivates novela fans with its stellar cast, which includes telenovela sweetheart Adela Noriega, Mauricio Islas, Cesar Evora, Daniela Romo and Karyme Lozano. The excellent melodrama also includes a music score by Luis Miguel, “Amor Amor Amor,” (Love Love Love).
Although the feud between the Valdés and Ramirez families began over “El Manantial”, a beautiful spring that generously waters the small Valdés property and not the neighboring prosperous farm belonging to the Ramirez family, the real hatred is based on a shocking secret…the adulterous liaison between Justo Ramírez (Alejandro Tomassi) and Francisca Rivero Valdés (Azela Robinson). This affair is only the root of a burning resentment that will slowly destroy both families.
However, in spite of having been brought up to hate each other’s family, young Alfonsina Valdés (Adela Noriega) and Alejandro Ramírez (Mauricio Islas) find a mutual attraction that neither dares to admit. But the ill will that has poisoned the two families condemns the young lovers to suffer rejection and cruelty. And in order to survive, their love must break down the barriers that fate has placed in their way, so the “The Spring” will once more become a source of hope and happiness.
“El Manantial” will be seen on Univision Network Monday through Friday from 7 pm to 8 pm ET/PT (6 pm to 7 pm Central/Mountain Time).
