Univision Puerto Rico has launched UnivisionPR.com, a new online and mobile site. Debuting in conjunction with the station’s 10th Anniversary celebration, the new site is a turning point for Univision’s local TV site strategy and features a new interactive user experience focused on video.
“UnivisionPR.com represents a vital interactive component of our TV offerings for our Puerto Rico audience,” said Kevin Cuddihy, president, Univision Television Group. “The new site enriches viewers’ experience and is tailored to passion points, including news, weather and entertainment.”
Viewers can now access clips of their favorite shows, such as Univision Puerto Rico’s “Las Noticias a las 5” and “Primer Impacto” at anytime, across online and on mobile. Building off of Univision Puerto Rico’s social media success, this new site will provide another platform for users to engage with and enjoy Univision’s best content.
“Our continued commitment is to provide quality content to the Puerto Rican community on our traditional platform and now via our new site,” said Larry Sands, president and general manager, Univision Puerto Rico. “The launch of this new site allows us to further extend our audience’s experience given their positive responses to our linear programming and social media efforts.”
Serving as an extension of the Univision Puerto Rico local station, the site centralizes video content and puts an emphasis on high quality user engagement. Other features include extensive news coverage keeping the audience up-to-date on breaking news from Puerto Rico, the U.S. and the world, as well as special weather and real time traffic tools.
In addition to the dedicated Puerto Rico forum, Facebook and Twitter widgets have been integrated across the site so viewers can share their activity and interesting newsbytes on their social media pages. Viewers can also engage on Facebook (www.facebook.com/UnivisionPuertoRico) and on Twitter via @univisionpr.
