Univision Radio Re-Launches WZAA-FM IN NYC.

Univision Radio “invaded Long Island” at 12 Noon EST on Friday, January 9, 2004, as former Long Island radio station WLIR 92.7FM will be renamed WZAA 92.7FM and begin simulcasting the Latino Mix format currently broadcast on WCAA-105.9FM. WZAA 92.7 FM will include the best of Salsa, Merengue, Baladas, Batchata, Rock en Espanol, Reggaton, Spanish Pop and Anglo Pop. With the addition of this new frequency, Latino Mix can now be heard in Long Island and Connecticut as well as in New York.
Bryan Melendez, WCAA-105.9FM Latino Mix Program Director commented, “I am proud to be a part of the Univision team and to embrace this exciting means of broadcasting in the New York radio market. This station will bring us a combined signal strength capable of reaching far more listeners.”
