Univision restructure Sales Group.

Univision Communications Inc. announced a restructuring of its sales team that will enable the Company to more effectively pursue new business across all platforms while continuing to serve its existing client base. The announcement was made by Keith Turner, president of Sales & Marketing.

The restructuring is part of a continuing effort by Univision to not only maintain and strengthen relationships with its current client base, but it also opens paths to attract new business and expand its client roster with a focus on not only Univision’s successful television network but also its growing lineup of additional platforms, including Digital, Cable, Local TV and Radio.

“This new structure places an emphasis on new business development while also adding efficiencies that will serve both new and existing clients,” Turner said. “The restructuring enables us to take better advantage of the momentum we have.”

In conjunction with the announcement, Univision has named Steve Mandala executive vice president, Advertising Sales. Mandala spent five years as EVP, Cable Entertainment Ad Sales at NBC Universal after eight years as senior vice president/Telemundo Network Sales & Marketing and Affiliate Relations.  Mandala will oversee Univision’s Client Development Group along with Sports Sales and Direct Response advertising.

“I am pleased to welcome Steve back to the Univision family,” commented Turner. “During my NBC Universal days, I saw first-hand he was a star performer. With such an abundance of opportunity in this department especially, I am excited to bring to our organization his unique talent and passion for helping clients reach the all-important Hispanic consumer group.”

In addition to Mandala, Turner’s direct reports under the new structure are: Laura Molen (EVP, Network Sales), Roberto Ruiz (SVP, Brand Solutions Team), Mark Dante (EVP, Station Group Sales), Charlie Echeverry (EVP, Interactive Sales) and Lee Davis (EVP, Radio Sales).  Ruiz, a veteran with more than 20 years of marketing experience, will assume leadership of Univision’s Brand Solutions Team, whose scope will be expanded to serve as a resource for the entire Company.

Lisa McCarthy, former EVP of the Client Development Group, has left to form her own consulting business, while Graciela Eleta, former SVP of Brand Solutions, will transition to provide consulting to Univision.
