Univision & Televisa going to court?

According to this week’s Los Angeles Business Journal, the situation between Univision and Televisa has become a little un-friendlier in recent weeks.

The issue at stake is that Univision believes they have been over-paying for programming and Televisa believes that Univision violated the terms of their programming contract.

The court dates have been postponed several times at the request of both parties.

It seems both companies were in discussions to formalize an agreement between them that would be beneficial to both parties. As we all know the devil is in the details and it seems Televisa feel the need for a little more of a voice in the relationship.

It seems both parties have entrenched themselves in their respective corners and no agreement but to go to court is in sight.

We will have to wait and see.
