The following statement can be attributed to Joe Uva, president & CEO, Univision Communications Inc. before the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet of the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation United States Senate
“Today’s hearing demonstrated the importance of a consumer-driven media marketplace. Univision successfully negotiated over 150 carriage agreements, resulting in partnerships with our distributors that have enabled us to invest in expanded news coverage, community service programs and other initiatives that benefit our viewers in the U.S. Hispanic community. As Congress considers this issue, it is critical that the market incentives that made these deals possible are preserved.”
