Univision wants $1 for Retransmission-Consent fees.

Univision’s CEO Joe Uva explained that Univision unique relationship with its viewers offers great opportunities for cable operators carrying the Univision feed.

In the past Un ivision has always tried to get cable access through the must carry rule, but because of its unique viewer base, the communications company will be asking for $1 for each cable subscriber that an individual cable system has when Univision is on that cable system.

The bulk of the cable distribution agreements are going to expire in 2008, this prompting the request in the new negotiations.
