Univision’s Isaac Lee Resigns

Isaac Lee has resigned from his post of Chief Content Officer at Univision.  This comes on the heels of him being removed from the same position at Televisa a couple of months ago.

Mr. Lee’s tenure a Univision has been one that has been marked with the purchase of mainstream media sites from Gawker, Gizmodo, Deadspin, Lifehacker, The Root and a stake in The Onion’s parent company to create Fusion Media Group for Univision to become more mainstream to interest potential Investors.  End results, it did not failed.

Many see his tenure composed of moves that did not create the necessary lift the company was looking for out of the acquisitions and other ventures he managed.

Many of you remember the scalding article by Gizmodo writers about Mr. Lee and Univision, his cronies known internallt as FOILS (Friends of Isaac Lee) and the problems surrounding the Univision acquisition and management of the mainstream titles, which lead to many employees of Fusion Media Group receiving health severances to end their contracts with the company.

Industry insiders speculate he spent a lot of Univision’s and Inverstor money on non-sensible projects and acquisitions that did not add to the company’s core business of serving the US Hispanic Consumer.

He is the first casualty of Vincent L. Sadusky, the new CEO for the company replacing Randy Falco.  What about the FOILS?
