Varela Jenkins named VP of Digital at Alma.

Alma announced the hiring of Genevieve Varela Jenkins as the advertising agency’s Vice President of Digital.

Jenkins, comes from Fleishman-Hillard where she was VP of Digital, bringing with her track record in branding and identity, social media, digital communications, integrated marketing, production and project management.

Jenkins has a robust portfolio of integrated communications experience gleaned from more than twelve years in advertising and public relations. She focused on social business strategies at Fleishman Hillard on behalf of clients such as Procter & Gamble, Philips, EA Sports, British Airways, McCormick Spices, AT&T, Merck and Bayer Corporation. Previously, she was Creative Services Director for The Jeffrey Group, serving clients such as Kodak, Sony Ericsson, Getty Images, Fed-Ex and DIAGEO. And before that, Jenkins worked as a designer and art director.

“Given Alma’s creative footprint, Genevieve’s artistic background was an important part of our search,” said Luis Miguel Messianu. “She’s coming to a team that is already doing great work and she will integrate our digital components into Alma’s philosophy of empowering social creativity.”

“Our direction as an agency has been toward convergence of digital, offline and social platforms,” said Isaac Mizrahi, SVP Managing Director. “In the last few years our digital revenue has been growing exponentially. That tells us that we’re moving in the right direction, with digital and planning driving our core mission.”
