Veredicto Final debuts on TeleFutura.
August 18, 2007
TeleFutura will debut its new daytime courtroom program “Veredicto Final” (Final Verdict), Monday, September 17 at 2pm ET/PT (1pm Central). Presiding over the courtroom will be Judge Cristina Pereyra, former Judge of the Eleventh Circuit Court, and the only real-life judge currently on Spanish-language television.
Pereyra, born in the U.S. of Cuban parents, was raised and educated in Mexico. At the age of 24, Pereyra moved to the U.S., where she earned her second legal degree. As a former assistant Public Defender, Pereyra became well acquainted with the circumstances of people and their problems. Later, as a judge, she presided over criminal, civil, family, and domestic violence cases, among others. Calling upon her vast experience for “Veredicto Final,” she will listen to both sides, weigh the evidence, and render a just verdict based on her extensive knowledge of the law.
“I am extremely excited to be joining the TeleFutura family,” said Judge Pereyra. “I am especially looking forward to not only resolving people’s conflicts, but to opening a window for viewers to the legal system, and showing them how they can benefit from it.”
