VH1 Latin America announced the launch of its signal on DirecTV’s platform in Latin America. With this launch, Direct TVs 1.4 million subscribers will now have access to the leading music and pop culture channel for young adults, making Vh1 available to 11.1 million homes in Latin America. This announcement comes only a month after the network celebrated its second anniversary, subsequent to becoming the fastest growing analog channel in the history of Pay TV in Latin America and having harvested several prestigious awards and nominations for its creative efforts along the way. The signal can be seen on channel 268 of DirecTV in Latin America.

“This agreement adds to the great potential of our incredible growth in the region and permits us to take a step forward in our objective to satisfy the programming niche for viewers between 25-49 that grew up on Nickelodeon and MTV, but are now looking for new, original, innovative and fun programming that celebrates the pop icons of their generation”, said Alvaro Barros, Vice-president of Distribution for MTV Networks Latin America.

With the launch of Vh1 on DirecTV, the network reaches a penetration of 83% and 84% of Pay TV homes in Argentina and Venezuela respectively, and will soon arrive in Chile.
