Rumor and confirmations ran rampant last week, with the speculation that Viacom was aggressively pursuing a purchase of one of the two Hispanic focused networks in the USA.
Mel Karmazin President of Viacomlast month stated in an investor’s meeting that a purchase of a strong Hispanic focused media entity would complement the purchase of Black Entertainment Television.
Telemundo and Viacom have stated that they have exchange certain financial information, but an agreement is not certain at this time.
