For the first time in recent years, Vicente Fernández the “King of Mexico” gives an exclusive in-depth interview which will air on Telemundo this Sunday, November 16th at 8pm ET/PT (7pm CT) after Sin Fronteras.
Telemundo’s Reporter Yovanka Sánchez traveled to Mexico to share with viewers the life, issues, and home of the man who has been Mexico’s leading singer and actor for more than three decades.
During “La Entrevista”, a one-hour special, Vicente Fernández talks for the first time about his painful battle against prostate cancer after he was diagnosed and treated last year. “I never thought that the recovery was going to be this hard. I even had to wear diapers,” said Fernández.
In spite of his enormous popularity, Fernández career has been marred by scandals and tragedies. During “La Entrevista”, Vicente Fernández reveals everything about his son’s kidnapping, Vicente Jr., during which two of the young man’s fingers were severed by the kidnappers who were never caught. “I think that vengeance is the worst because it never ends; I leave it to The One up there, I think that the biggest authority is The One up there,” said Fernández.
Fernández will also speak for the first time about the pain his wife went through during the scandal in which it was alleged he had fathered an illegitimate son named Pablo. For 15 years he believed Pablo was his son but recently, he says, it was proven untrue.
“La Entrevista” unveils Fernandez’s relationships with different women, and how, despite this, he has maintained a strong bond with his wife. He sincerely confessed that “she has been the one to deal with many big problems, some very strong, but we have never spoken about divorce.”
During the special, Fernández takes Yovanka Sánchez in a remarkable horse-back ride to parts of his ranch never before seen on television. He will also show his favorite and unusual hobby.
