Vme TV and DIRECTV joined forces to celebrate Spanish-language storytelling at this year’s Miami Film Festival GEMS, a weeklong showcase that spotlights some of the most compelling voices in global cinema.

Running like a highlight reel with depth, GEMS reflects Miami’s cultural mosaic—presenting acclaimed films, new discoveries, and a strong current of Spanish-language cinema. This year’s program includes notable titles such as A Poet(Colombia), Belén (Argentina), Deaf (Spain), Sirat (Spain), and Dreams (Mexico), underscoring the festival’s commitment to diverse and authentic storytelling.
As part of the collaboration, DIRECTV and Vme TV will co-sponsor the festival’s Spanish-language programming, reinforcing their shared mission to celebrate culture, language, and creativity. The partnership highlights DIRECTV’s MiEspañol Genre Pack and ÓPTIMO MÁS, two of its premier Spanish-language offerings, along with the launch of its new campaign “Como Nunca Lo Imaginaste” featuring Adamari López, DIRECTV’s Hispanic Brand Ambassador.
“This collaboration with DIRECTV at Miami Film Festival GEMS reflects the power of partnerships that celebrate Hispanic creativity and elevate diverse storytelling,” said Michael Fernández, Vice President of Marketing and People at Vme TV. “Together, we’re amplifying the voices and perspectives that define our community and our culture.”
