Volkswagen remixes Da. Da. Da. for Tiguan launch.

The resurrection of The Trio’s famous 80’s song is the centerpiece of Volkswagen’s U.S. Hispanic TV campaign for Tiguan, its new compact SUV.

Three spots titled “Alley,” “Birthday,” and “Parking” created by CreativeOndemanD, directed by L.A.-based Shyam Madiraju and produced by Anonymous Content, deliver the Tiguan’s message: it fits everywhere and holds everything. The Tiguan commercials demonstrate that the new compact SUV, as the term clearly states, definitely has a size advantage over all other SUVs. And for the first time, small has the advantage.

Not only do the spots poke fun at the impracticality and downright absurdity of owning a gargantuan SUV, but they also cleverly portray the agility and feistiness of the Tiguan. From getting stuck in an alley, to ruining a birthday and being unable to park, the SUV’s commencing downfall is exposed with Volkswagen’s quintessential touch of wit. With this innovative campaign, the newly very gas-conscious consumers will find that this 4 cylinder, 200 horsepower, 14.5-foot (length) is not only a practical, powerful SUV, but it’s also a fun car to drive.

Tiguan vs. Big Bad SUV is a campaign which includes OOH, radio and online.
