Voto Latino teams with V-me to Engage Latino Voters.

With the Latino vote playing a decisive role in the 2008 campaigns, Voto Latino, the leading organization for Latino Youth Voter empowerment, joins with V-me, America’s fastest growing Spanish network, to engage and inform Latino voters as part of V-me’s PARTICIPA 2008 campaign.

Friday September 26th, in conjunction with V-me’s Live Spanish coverage of the first 2008 Debate, and the live V-me Interactive Forum in New York immediately after, Voto Latino hosts its first Presidential debate Live-Blog, with special guest Rosario Dawson. Comments and questions from the blog will be integrated into the forum.

“V-me is raising the bar for political analysis and involvement with bilingual Latinos of all ages,” said John Begert, V-me’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Partnering with Voto Latino is a smart way for us to reach and motivate young voters online and on the ground.”

Voto Latino’s award-winning celebrity PSA’s air on V-me – which reaches over 6 million US Hispanic homes – and on VmeTV.com vmetv.com/participa2008 , where new voters can sign up with Voto Latino’s registration application.

To help get out the vote at V-me’s local PARTICIPA 2008 events, Voto Latino is providing grassroots registration support, and free music downloads from Voto Latino’s All-Star Benefit album. Links to V-me’s Participa 2008 programming can also be found on Voto Latino’s website http://www.votolatino.org and My Space page.

“Voto Latino targets the 7 million Latino voters between the ages of 18-29 who could be the key to the 2008 elections,” said Maria Teresa Petersen, founding executive director, Voto Latino. “V-me’s national presence and engaging content can help us register young Latinos and get them to the polls on November 4th.”
