Waka Waka Univision’s theme song for 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that the Spanish-language version of Shakira’s song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa/Esto es África), has been chosen as Univision’s official theme for its exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.

Waka Waka (This Time for Africa/Esto es África), written by Shakira, is the official song chosen by FIFA for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa tournament and is performed in collaboration with the South African band Freshlyground. This same track will be featured in Univision’s on-air promotional campaign for its coverage of this world-class event and serve as the theme for the opening pre-game segments for all of the 64 matches broadcast across the networks.

Shakira will also be performing her song along with music group Freshlyground during the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert which Univision will broadcast the day before the event begins on June 10th.
