WAPA America to broadcast Puerto Rico’s National Superior Basketball games.

WAPA America announced that it has acquired the exclusive U.S. broadcast rights to Puerto Rico’s National Superior Basketball games. Under the terms of the agreement, the U.S. Spanish-language cable and satellite channel will feature live broadcasts of one to two games per week.

“Wapa America is extremely proud to be able to offer the Puerto Rican community who reside in the U.S., the broadcast of their favorite sport, bringing them closer to their beloved island,” said Jose Ramos, President of Wapa TV.

The channel, which boasts the largest line-up of local productions in Puerto Rico, will feature National Superior Basketball’s regular season games, the allstar game and the championship series.

“The League is pleased to have the Puertorican community that live in the States enjoy their favorite sport, basketball. We hope this is the first of various sport transmissions from Puerto Rico and we wish to congratulate Wapa America on this effort,” commented Henry Neumann, President of National Superior Basketball.
