WAPA America broadcasts 2009 National Puerto Rican Day Parade.

WAPA America was the exclusive national Spanish language broadcaster of the 2009 National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York, to took place on June 14, with commentary by WAPA’s newscast anchor Normando Valentin and host of the popular daytime talk show “Entre Nosotras,” Maricarmen Aviles.

For the second year in a row, WAPA Television of Puerto Rico and WAPA America, the U.S. network affiliated with WAPA Television, will participate with a float in the parade carrying some of the station’s most celebrated on-air personalities, including Hector Travieso, co-host of the highest-rated local program in Puerto Rico, “SuperXclusivo;” Sunshine Logroño, star of the popular sketch comedy show, “Club Sunshine;” Alba Nydia Díaz and Sonia Valentín, two hosts from the live daily talk show, “Entre Nosotras;” Cielito Rosado, host of the primetime cooking program, “Cielito What’s Cooking?;” and Celimar Adames, esteemed reporter from WAPA’s
“Noticentro,” the leading newscast on the Island.

In addition, Latin pop-star Frankie Negron and boxing sensation and former light welterweight NABF champion Francisco “El Gato” Figueroa will participate on the WAPA America float at the Parade.

This year, Hector Travieso will be recognized as the official Hispanic Ambassador of the 2009 National Puerto Rican Day Parade, and Celimar Adames will serve as parade Godmother from Puerto Rico.
