Wing taps Stephanie Da Costa as Media Director.
June 14, 2011
Alain Groenendaal, President and CEO of Wing announced the appointment of Stephanie Da Costa to Media Director.
Based in Miami, Da Costa will lead the agency’s Media Department, focusing on Reliant and Goya, but providing key counsel on all media clients. She reports to Andrew Speyer, Wing’s VP, Head of Strategy.
“Splitting ideas between message and medium is completely artificial; these days in the best ideas you cannot think of the one without the other,” Groenendaal said. “Stephanie brings an in-depth understanding of media planning combined with a love of working within a creative agency environment.”
Da Costa’s hire comes as part of a restructuring of Wing’s media department that will integrate strategic and communications planning – with Stephanie and the members of her team working closely with the agency’s strategic planning team. This integration will ensure that planning and media are operating collaboratively to maximize the value of consumer insights.
“Stephanie is one of the smartest and most interesting people I’ve met in this business,” said Speyer. “She’s curious about people and culture and how media – in the broadest sense of the word –can connect them with brands.”
Prior to joining Wing, Da Costa was a media supervisor at Crispin Porter + Bogusky. While at CP+B, she worked on various accounts including Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, Ask.com and Sprite. Stephanie has also worked at Universal McCann and Carat on DTC and OTC brands within Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, as well as Pernod Ricard distilled spirits brands. Her 10-plus-year career includes experience in buying and planning across various media both nationally and within local markets.
“Wing provides a great opportunity for me to expand my work and experience,” said Da Costa. “The agency is flourishing with smart, inventive and talented people that are taking it to new levels. That’s something I want to be a part of.”
