Winter Béisbol cancelled in Puerto Rico.

The Puerto Rico Baseball Commission has decided in its 69 history to cancel the upcoming baseball winter league.

The impact of such a decision has not only far reaching cultural impacts on the island and the United States, but also economic impacts.

Due to low attendance and advertiser involvement the team owners have decided to take a year off to re-organize their game plan. The involvement of players from outside the island has been dwindling in recent years, thus not helping highlight the importance of the league on a world level.

Que pena.
