Wiscovitch named Executive Director of National Supermarket Association.

Zulema Wiscovitch has been appointed executive director of the National Supermarket Association (NSA), an association that represents owners of approximately 400 independent supermarkets in the New York metro area and other cities throughout the East Coast, it was announced by the President of the Board David Corona.

In making the announcement, David Corona noted: “We are extremely proud to have selected Zulema as executive director of our association”. “We believe that her 20 years of corporate, marketing and community outreach experience will enhance our position in the industry and provide another level of service to our members”, he added.

“I am truly honored and excited to have been selected executive director of the NSA,” said Zulema Wiscovitch, “especially considering the explosion in the minority populations we serve”. Wiscovitch added: “Among the immediate plans we have is the development of a new website, increasing our scholarship grants, developing workshops that are crucial to our membership and reaching out to companies that have long ignored our consumers and NSA members.”

Founded in 1989 by Hispanic entrepreneurs, the association has grown dramatically in the last 21 years and currently provides its members hands on representation in both the private and public sectors and advocates issues that impact the entire supermarket industry. It also provides outreach services to corporations that want to re-invest in the ever growing Hispanic market.
