1. Ask how you can make your boss achieve his/her goals
2. Then ask how they can help you clear your calendar so you have time to focus on helping them achieve their goals

And why attitude not aptitude that makes one key.

Lots of people work hard and have the skills but it is the person with the right attitude who is seen as key.

Attitude is being valuable team member who does what they say will do and does so with energy, optimism and a focus on outcome.
