WTMO-TV Telemundo Orlando’s Feria de la Familia.

Over 18,000 people attended WTMO Telemundo Orlando’s second annual La Feria de La Familia, setting an attendance record for the event. Now in its second year serving the Hispanic community of Central Florida. This year’s theme was Back to School: A Day for the Entire Family. The event had a record participation of 140 vendors and its attendance numbers grew by 20 percent. The all-day fair was held at the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida, on Saturday, July 29th.
At the event, the community partnership of Amerigroup and the Osceola County Health Department surpassed their one-day local record for back to school physicals. More than 2,000 children were immunized in preparation for their return to school and over 350 received physical examinations.

This year’s event experienced double digit growth thanks to the support of our television audience as well as the commitment of our local and national advertisers and community partners.”
The sponsors of WTMO Orlando’s La Feria de La Familia this year included Advance Auto Parts, Amerigroup, Ashley Furniture, Bealls, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Central Florida Educators Credit Union, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge Dealer Group, Florida Blood Centers, Home Depot, and Napleton Jeep Chrysler Dodge.
Alfonso “Poncho” de Anda, of Telemundo’s morning show Cada Día con Maria Antonieta and Telenoticias Puerto Rico news anchors Jorge Rivera Nieves and Ivonne Solla were in Orlando for the event. Local Telemundo talent included the Telenoticias Orlando news team and Giorgina Pinedo, anchor of Entre Nos.
Grammy nominated salsa artist Michael Stuart, pop star Jean, and Dominican gospel singer Nancy Amancio, among others, performed throughout the day.
In addition, Jim Davis, the Democratic candidate for the Governor seat in Florida, and Katherine Harris, Republican candidate for United States Senate, made separate appearances. Local political candidates and government officials also attended.
