“Yo Soy El Artista” Influencers 2014

By Lynn Ponder / WebCityGirls

Expectations where high and discussions among colleagues were all about predicting if Telemundo and Latin We’s social media experiment #YoSoyElInfluencer Summit combined with the new reality show “Yo Soy el Artista” would become a brilliant idea with a flawless execution or a total disaster. The task was not an easy one, and I was told it was in the making for an entire year.

As one of the chosen TOP 100 influencers among the talented US Hispanic and Latin American YouTubers, Viners, Instagramers, Facebook and Twitter influencers, I can confirm that this eclectic group of  Millennials and Baby Boomers became united and thrilled to live this experience together.

We spent an entire week divided into different groups where Latin We had the responsibility to be our chaperons and cater to all our needs or daily requests. My observations and conversations gathered that each one of us knew around 10 to 20 people within the group and all the rest we met for the first time and immediately connected. No matter what platform was your specialty, we would find things in common to talk about, share our success stories while we learned from each other. These Instagramers and Viners are so technically savvy that they edit their videos from smartphones. Alliances and new content was created on a daily basis in the most fun way possible.

One message throughout the week that impressed me was the fact that Luis Balaguer,  Founder and CEO Latin World Entertainment, genuinely wanted all of us to meet, mingle and discuss ways of collaborating. Luis was on a mission to expand his empire by truly giving us all new opportunities through his talent management company of internet celebrity talent. His team was there to guide us, support us and help us shine our light.

Everyday was a new plan, a new show to shoot and new people to interact, have fun and learn from. I personally applaud Telemundo and Latin We, for uniting the influencers, as well as giving us the opportunity to learn from high profile media executives from Twitter to YouTube. We also had the chance to show our force in the space, as together we could reach  200,000,000 individuals more than the population of Brazil or twice the population of Mexico.  I cannot think of any other network that has used the power of influencers or at least 100 of the TOP to launch a show to the world while making us a fundamental part of the show.

“Yo Soy El Artista” launches on Sunday, September 14 at 8pm/7c and 100 influencers are ready to take social media by storm with our passion and  amazing content we all created. Watch out for webcitygirls// social campaign with short fun videos of “Who are the Influencers” coming out this week and throughout each show in collaboration with Nuevon a celebrity-oriented, Hispanic pop culture and lifestyle YouTube channel.
