Zimmerman Advertising gets the Banderitas!

Six Flags announced that after an extensive agency review it has assigned Zimmerman Advertising, an Omnicom Group company, as its creative agency of record for its North American business.

Zimmerman will be responsible for the strategic, media planning and creative efforts for the company’s 30 parks in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. The Six Flags account will be managed by Jordan Zimmerman, Founder and Chairman; Zev Auerbach, Executive Creative Director; Fred Zuckerman, EVP, Media Services; Cliff Courtney, Chief Strategic Officer; Michael Goldberg, Chief Marketing Officer; and Scott Thaler, VP, Client Success.

“Zimmerman has a strong grasp of the unique role that Six Flags plays in the consumer marketplace — an entertainment destination with a national brand and regional reach,” said Mark Shapiro, President and CEO, Six Flags. “They have a proven track record of taking national brands like ours and activating them locally and at the retail level.”

“The reason we won is that we were willing to think as big as a national brand deserves but also as small as 30 retail parks need to,” said Jordan Zimmerman, Founder and Chairman of Zimmerman Advertising. “We have built an entire company around what Six Flags needs to thrive.”

OgilvyOne Worldwide will retain the direct and interactive business for Six Flags, and Mindshare will retain media-buying responsibilities. Six Flags, Inc. is the world’s largest regional theme park company.

Zimmerman, the Miami/Fort Lauderdale agency that recently enlisted the local Nissan franchisees´business for Hispanic, has added more fun to its roster by winning the Six Flags account to service all its amusements parks and business.

Zimmerman won the general market business and its Hispanic Market component, the latter to be handled by the agency´s new Latino Department.

The Fort Lauderdale shop competed with giants Ogilvy and Mather for the general market, and the Bravo Group for the Hispanic portion.

In the end, ‘banderitas’ for them.
