Zoom Forward & Zubi win 2008 Creative Media Award for Multicultural Campaign.

Zoom Forward and Zubi Advertising announced that they received a 2008 Creative Media Award in the multicultural category for their campaign on behalf of Ford and the introduction of the Ford Focus this past summer. Targeted to the 18-24 year old Hispanic demographic, the campaign used over 15 of Zoom Forward’s community penetrating mural media executions in the largely Hispanic neighborhoods of San Antonio, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

“I’m thrilled to accept this award on behalf of Zoom Media & Marketing, our partners at Zubi Advertising, and Ford,” said Rudy Duthil, Director of Zoom Forward & Experiential Marketing “We have executed numerous programs for Zubi that target Hispanics and it’s great that we’re both being recognized for this truly unique and creative campaign. While this is Zoom Forward’s first award, it is a prime example of what can happen when partners truly embrace our offerings and let their imaginations run wild.”

“This was a truly collaborative effort with Zoom Forward and within the departments here at Zubi,” commented Joe Zubi, Chief Operating Officer of Zubi Advertising. “Everyone came together to work on this from day one, which does not always occur in our industry. Both companies worked extremely well together and knew how to work best with each other’s creative teams.”

To execute this program Zoom Forward went into Hispanic communities in Ford’s target markets to identify and secure wall locations for placing the mural media. Zoom Forward and Zubi also worked to produce creative that would truly resonate with the target audience by bringing together Zubi’s talented creative team and the Zoom artists who painted the murals in the various markets. The end result was a mural campaign that featured bright colors and innovative illustrations of the new 2008 Ford Focus.

“There’s always a great result when media vendors are open to trying new things,” said Andrés Ordóñez, Vice President/Creative Director of Zubi Advertising. “From the start of this project, Zoom Forward was open to our new designs and breaking from the traditional, which helped the Ford executions come to life. It was a great team effort.”

“What was most exciting about the work and the media was its trueness to the market,” said Dave Rodriguez, Multicultural Marketing, Ford Division. “The style of the creative was right on for the target, the product and the media environment. It allowed us to display the Ford Focus in a unique way, which gave it street credibility and attitude. It is always a challenge to breakthrough, but we believe this work did so and we’re excited that the industry has recognized it.”
