The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) has announced an extension to the submission deadline for its Multicultural Excellence Awards. Entries will now be accepted through July 24, and winners will be announced at the ANA’s 11th annual Multicultural Marketing and Diversity Conference taking place October 4-6 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The ADCOLOR Industry Coalition announced that Hispanic media mogul Cristina Saralegui as the 2009 ADCOLOR Awards All-Star Honoree. Each year, the ADCOLOR Awards celebrates outstanding achievements by diverse professionals in advertising, marketing and media. Past “All-Star Honorees” include Russell Simmons of RUSH World Synergies and Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Jr. of Magic Johnson Enterprises. This year’s ADCOLOR Awards will be hosted by CNN’s Soledad O’Brien and will take place on Sunday, October 4 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix.
ANA Introduces new Radio Category for Annual Multicultural Excellence Awards.
The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) is now accepting entries for its annual Multicultural Excellence Awards. The Awards recognize ANA member companies and marketers for their work in producing superior multicultural advertising campaigns that ran between May 2008 and April 2009. This year’s awards will feature a new category highlighting exceptional work in radio advertising.

Lionel Sosa received one of the industry’s highest honors – the Eduardo Caballero Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA). During a special ceremony at the AHAA Media Buying and Planning Conference in Las Vegas, advertising professionals from around the country paid tribute to Sosa, a pioneer of the thriving advertising industry that specializes in marketing to the nation’s 46 million Hispanics and founder of Sosa, Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, now Bromley Communications, a leading independent Hispanic advertising agency in the U.S.
