According to a recent report from SITA (Societe Internationale de Telecommunications Aeronautiques), online plane ticket sales will make up 28% of all airline ticket sales in 2006, up from 20% in 2005. This means that of the 2 billion airline passengers worldwide, approximately 560 million use the Internet to make their bookings.

Sprint announced the results of “Women in a Wireless World,” a compilation of female-centric data points from recent Sprint surveys. As casinos continue to invest money into their facilities, a new survey shows that in the past 12 months, over half (59%) of U.S. adults say they have not visited a casino, while half (51%) say they are not at all likely to visit a casino in the next 12 months.

Confirming a previous established trend, BURST! Media says that Internet use continues grow at the expense of other “traditional” media such as TV, radio, magazines and newspapers. According to a recent BURST! survey of more than 2,600 web users about changes in their media consumption in the past year, 60.9% respondents said they spend more time on the Internet today than a year ago, with 32.2% spending “much more time” while 28.7% said “somewhat more time.”
