WingLatino Develops New Back-to-School Ad Campaign For Kmart.

Kmart launched its new Back-to-School campaign this week with original television and radio commercials created by Hispanic agency WingLatino. The ad campaign, which carries the theme of “one product inspires the other,” consists of 15 and 30 second spots that target Hispanics gearing up for the busy back-to-school shopping season. The commercials are scheduled to run from now through the end of August.

The International Communicator Awards competition recognized MGS Communications (MGS) with top honors for industry excellence in print communication. MGS received a Crystal Award of Excellence under the Publicity/Magazine Placement category for Tiffany & Co.’s cover story on Paloma Picasso’s “Boldly Admired” collection featured in Selecta Magazine. The Chef’s Fest 2004 Insert brought home a second Crystal Award of Excellence, under the Marketing/Promotion/Newspaper Insert category. The Hyundai Safetyville Coloring Book was recognized with an Award of Distinction under the Brochure/Other category, and the 2004 Voices for Children Gala Invitation received Honorable Mention under the Public Service/Pro Bono category.

Greyhound Launches New Ads.

As part of its strategy to reach out to the urban and Hispanic markets, Greyhound Lines, Inc. has launched a new nationwide radio campaign featuring the new voices of Greyhound, comedians Wanda Sykes and Adál Ramones. The ads, created by Dallas-based agency The Richards Group, touch on current issues facing the public.

Advertising Age is accepting entries for its seventh annual Hispanic Creative Advertising Awards. TV, radio, magazine, newspaper, out-of-home and interactive ads and Web sites targeted at U.S. Hispanic consumers that broke between May 1, 2004 and April 30, 2005 are eligible.

COD Creates Ink For Volkswagen’s Touareg.

Miami agency C.O.D has created a new commercial titled “Ink” for Volkswagen’s Touareg SUV. The spot was created using an innovative 3-D animation technique that made it possible for the Touareg to play a cat and mouse game with a mischievous ink spot.
