Older vehicle buyers less likely to consider Import – younger buyers more likely to avoid Domestic.

While older buyers who purchase domestic vehicles are more likely to avoid purchasing certain models because they are imports, younger consumers who purchase import vehicles are more likely to avoid models because they are of domestic origin, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Avoider Study.

The Marketing Executives Networking Group, an almost 1700 member organization of leading marketers who are at a VP-level or above in their organizations, issued the results of its first annual survey of Top Marketing Trends for 2008. HIV spike among Gay Men.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), expressed alarm over a Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) article that reported a startling 13% increase in HIV/AIDS cases among men who have sex with men (MSM) in the United States over the past four years. The article prompted AHF to renew its call for effective and sustained prevention efforts and a fast tracking of routine HIV testing nationwide. The JAMA article, which examines the upward trend among MSM in Western countries with a focus on the United States, attributes the uptick in infection rates to a rise in unsafe sex due to, among other factors, reduced fear over the disease’s potentially deadly consequences, lack of awareness of HIV status and substance abuse issues, particularly the use of methamphetamines and alcohol.

Latino gamers looking to compete in a major gaming tournament will get their chance in 2008. The Latino Gamerz Match, produced in partnership with Major Gaming Championships and Dallas-based Hispanic advertising agency iNSPIRE!, is the first major console gaming tournament targeted directly to Latino gamers.
