Puerto Rico’s changing Telecommunications Landscape.

During the past five years Puerto Rico has witnessed a dramatic change in the means by which members of Puerto Rico’s 1.4 million households communicate. Once the dominant means, landline telecommunications, including voice services provided by cable TV, have given way to the wireless cellular communications. With 71% of Puerto Rico homes having one or more wireless phone users, the utility value of a landline telephone has diminished.

Arbitron: Cell-Phone-Only Penetration Map

Arbitron is now measuring cell-phone-only households in all of its radio Metros in the 50 United States. Although the percentage of cell-only homes stood at 22.7% in the Fall of 2009, market-level penetration rates varied widely. DOWNLOAD MAP HERE.

Global Audience spends more time on Social Networks.

On average, global web users across 10 countries spent roughly five and a half hours on social networks in February 2010, up more than two hours from the same time last year. While the U.S. boasts the largest unique social networking audience, Italian and Australian web surfers led the way for average time on site with more than six hours each in February.

The State of Marketing 2010.

Unica Corporation announced results from its global survey of marketers, titled “The State of Marketing 2010.” Unica partnered with Salloway & Associates, an independent research company, on the survey. The sample covered nearly 200 online and direct marketers across a wide range of industries, geographies, and company sizes.
