Ad rejection by Telemundo and Univision.

Hispanic leaders in the United Church of Christ are expressing “deep sadness and disappointment” that the UCC’s newest TV ad has been rejected by Telemundo and Univision, two widely-popular, Spanish-language networks that reach nearly 100 percent of U.S. Hispanic households.

MTV TR3S launches.

MTV: Music Television’s president Christina Norman announced that the network is re-energizing its offerings to super-serve today’s 12 – 34 year-old bicultural U.S. Latinos with the establishment of MTV Tr3s (MTV Three).

Telemundo posts best performance.

Posting its best monthly performance ever during the month of March, Telemundo closed the 1st quarter of the year registering its strongest quarterly performance ever in Monday through Friday prime (M-F, 7-11 PM) among the coveted demos of adults 18-49 (A18-49) and adults 18-34 (A18-34).

Palm Beach International Film Festival.

The Palm Beach International Film Festival, held April 20-28, 2006, will present several movies of interest to South Florida’s Latin American community. Each of these films range in Latin influence from the island of Cuba to Spain and Puerto Rico.

Eduardo Caballero – Giant of American Broadcasting.

The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation has elected Eduardo Caballero Hispanic industry pioneer and media veteran to join the distinguished list of Giants of American Broadcasting for contributions to the electronic arts.

Si TV reorganizes programming department.

Si TV announced that Edward R. Leon, the network’s senior vice president of production, will assume the additional responsibilities as acting head of programming for the network previously held by company Co-Founder and Chairman Jeff Valdez.
