When it comes to indecency in the media, the opinions of Hispanic radio listeners vary only slightly from their Anglo and African-American brothers and sisters according to a recent nationwide study conducted by Paragon Media Strategies. When asked, “Are you aware of the recent issue of indecency in the media,” 79% of the Hispanic respondents in the survey indicated they were aware. This matched the 79% for total respondents and was close to the 80% awareness for Anglos. African-Americans’ awareness of the issue trailed a bit at 66%.

Curtain To Rise on Manhattan’s Only All Latin Movie Theatre.
Clearview Cinemas announced that on Friday, August 27 its movie theatre at 62nd and Broadway will open as Cinema Latino — the only all Latino movie house in Manhattan. The single-screen, 300-seat theatre will exclusively show first run Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese films with English subtitles imported from 20 different countries.

HSBC Bank USA, N.A. has unveiled a live 3-D billboard as part of a campaign designed to promote the bank’s new Hispanic-focused products and services. Extending from the billboard is a bench on which a person will sit and ponder the question, “Do you want a better bank?”
2004 Athens Olympic Games Begin @ Telemundo.
NBC’s Athens Olympics early round soccer coverage begins Wednesday and continues Thursday on Telemundo. Telemundo’s historic Olympic broadcast debut features a soccer tripleheader highlighted by Mexico vs. Mali in men’s action. This marks the first non-English language Olympic broadcast in U.S. television history.
