The Latin Recording Academy announced that its celebration of the 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place on September 1 and will originate from Los Angeles’ landmark Shrine Auditorium. The show – which features performances from some of the genre’s most important and exciting artists – will broadcast on the CBS Television Network from 9-11 p.m. (ET/PT). In addition to its U.S. broadcast, the 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast in approximately 100 countries worldwide.

Independent Spanish Broadcasters Elect Board.
It was announced this week that the Independent Spanish Broadcasters Association (“ISBA”) elected its first Board of Directors and officers at the Association’s constitutional meeting on Wednesday, April 21, 2004. The meeting, which was held in Las Vegas during the National Association of Broadcasters convention, was widely attended by representatives of many of the nation’s independent Spanish-language broadcasting and media companies, and featured welcoming remarks by FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein.
Study Reveals A Higher Level Of Education Among Latin American Immigrants.
A higher educated wave of professionals and entrepreneurs have arrived in South Florida during the last few years, according to the study “Latin Review 2004” recently conducted by StatMark, a market research firm with offices in Miami, Florida, and Caracas, Venezuela.
