Lotus Entravision Reps (LER) announced the addition of ESPN Radio’s Dallas “ESPN Deportes” affiliate – KZMP 1540 AM. LER takes on national sales duties for the station effective immediately.

Fox Sports en Español is the recipient of two major industry awards for its “Strings” campaign, featuring an inspirational soccer TV spot set to the stirring sounds of violins. The groundbreaking and emotional piece garnered the network two Telly Awards, which honor outstanding cable TV programs, online content, commercials and film productions, as well as an Imagen Award, which recognizes positive portrayals of Latinos and Latino culture in entertainment.

Thursday August 27, 2009 marks a historic event in the world of Hispanic sports radio. Twenty years ago, FDP launched the first radio show dedicated to soccer.

Grupo Latino de Radio (GLR) announced the acquisition of exclusive broadcast rights for Copa Santander Libertadores and Copa Nissan Sudamericana for Spanish language radio in the United States.

This way, these soccer games will be distributed exclusively by GLR Networks to its affiliated radio stations.

Monday, August 17 marks a new beginning for legendary sportscaster Jorge Ramos. He will embark on a new journey when he makes his long-awaited debut on ESPN Deportes TV with the simulcast of his radio show Jorge Ramos y su Banda. HispanicAd.com caught up with Ramos earlier this week between rehearsals from his newly created state-of-the-art radio studios / new TV show set in Miami.

ESPN Deportes announced the launch of the network’s first SportsCenter ad campaign, “Sports Expert”, which features world renowned soccer star Lionel Messi, as well as other Latin stars, including Mexican professional boxer Juan Manuel Márquez, professional soccer goalkeeper Oscar ‘El Conejo’ Pérez, Colombian actor Andrés Palacio and Mexican rock band Molotov. The campaign will be rolled out this week and includes TV, radio, print, out of home (OOH) and online.

Futbol de Primera radio will be on site at Azteca Stadium next Wednesday August 12, 2009 to broadcast exclusively the historic World Cup Qualifying match between Mexico and the US. FDP’s coverage will begin at 3:30PM ET/12:30PM PT and the game will reach 96 radio stations (of which 36 are FM’s).

The 2009 World Football Challenge – which concluded on Sunday, July 26 with Chelsea FC defeating Club America 2-0 – was a slam dunk for ESPN Deportes.

Fox Sports en Espanol announced the launch of Tribuna Fox Sports, an interactive new program debuting on July 27th that will focus on Mexican soccer and the latest developments of the Mexican National Team.
