Barcheski named VP of Research at nuvoTV.

nuvoTV announced hat media industry research veteran Karen Barcheski has joined the company as vice president, research, a newly created position. She reports to Michael Schwimmer, chief executive officer.

Abud named President of Telemundo Station Group.

Telemundo Media announced that Manuel Abud has been named President of the Telemundo Station Group. Effective January 1st, Abud will report to Emilio Romano, President, Telemundo Media, replacing Ronald Gordon, who has been named Chairman at ZGS Communications, which owns and operates the largest group of independent stations affiliated with the Telemundo network.

Ad Age endorses hate

‘m still not sure why Ad Age felt compelled to give a voice to hate. I mean, how else do you explain their decision to invite a bona fide prophet of hate to their upcoming “Media Evolved” conference?  Glenn Beck may be doing something interesting in media (according to Ad Age) but he’s still a racist.

Luis Patiño has been appointed Senior Vice President for the Univision Television Group at Univision Communications Inc.

Telemundo Media announced that Alina Falcon has been named Senior Executive Vice President, News and Alternative Programming and will start in early December.

Vme announced the appointment of media veteran, Alvaro Garnica as general manager.

Carmen DiRienzo resigns as President of Vme.

Vme announced that Carmen DiRienzo, president and CEO, has stepped down from her position effective at the end of this year (December 31, 2011). She will continue to serve on the Board of Directors for Vme Media, Inc. as an independent director, will support the company in its transition to new management and will also continue to manage select projects.
