The energetic Mega TV, the creation of Raul Alarcon’s SBS is leaving little doubt of its intentions to become a bonafide player on the national scene. Accepting that making a dent on Univision’s or Telemundo’s programming is a gigantic goal, it is no secret that Mega TV’s major competitor is America TeVe which recently announced a fusion of Carlos Barba’s CaribeVision, after apparent differences between its Madrid-based , Mexico City-based and Cuban-American partners made it impossible to continue as CV Network.

TeleFutura announced it finished as the #2 Spanish-language television network in broadcast primetime (M-Sat 8-11pm; Sun 7-11pm) for the week of (1/18/2010-1/24/2010) beating Telemundo among all key demographics with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2 plus, 639,000 Adults 18-49, 381,000 Adults 18-34, and 446,000 Persons 12-34.
Univision extends Unidos por Haiti Special.
Univision Network announced it has extended tonight’s special edition of “Sábado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) “Unidos Por Haití” (United for Haiti) to a 5-hour, commercial free telecast due to the overwhelming number of artists wishing to support this historic event.
