DTV launch moved to June 12, 2009.

Congress approved the move of the date switch for television to offer digital programming in the USA from February 17, 2009 to June 12, 2009.

Telemundo launches ¡Hazte Contar! 2010 Census campaign.

Telemundo announced the launch of ”Hazte Contar!” (Be Counted!), a national initiative designed to increase awareness of the 2010 Census among U.S. Hispanics and increase their participation in this significant national process. The company-wide, year-long campaign will kick off on-air on April 1, 2009, and encompass all of Telemundo’s properties across its broadcast (network and stations), cable and digital platforms.

Mega TV signs with Spanish Television Sales.

Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS)announced that it has entered into a sales representation agreement with Spanish Television Sales (STS) to have the Company represent SBS’ leading Mega TV properties. STS will be responsible for advertising sales in all Mega TV markets across the country, including Puerto Rico, West Palm Beach and their newest affiliate in Las Vegas.

DTV-Delay bill fails to pass in House to approve a delay till June 2009.

The House failed to vote to approve a DTV date-change bill, a complete shocker on what the Senate had passed.

DTV date for switch continues to be February 17, 2009.
