TELEMUNDO 2008-2009.

On the heels of its successful client development meetings and the recent content agreement with Televisa for Mexico, Telemundo Communications Group, a leading producer of high-quality content for Hispanics in the U.S. and audiences around the world, revealed today its 2008-2009 original programming season at a press conference held at the Radio City Suite of the Rainbow Room in New York City. The new programming announcement was made by Don Browne, President, Telemundo; Jacqueline Hernandez, Chief Operating Officer, Telemundo; Mike Rodriguez, Senior Vice President, Network Sales and Marketing, Telemundo; Carlos Bardasano, Executive Vice President of Entertainment, Telemundo; and Flavio Morales, Vice President of Programming, mun2.

DIRECTV Más officially launches expanded channel offering during Up-fronts Week.

DIRECTV Más will unveil its latest Spanish-language programming and advertising campaign to the press.

Telemundo beefs up research capabilities.

Telemundo Communications Group announced that it is unveiling The Pulse Research Center, a state-of-the-art research facility at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles. In addition, Telemundo has subscribed to IAG Research, making it the first Spanish-language network client of IAG, offering advertisers and clients new comprehensive nation-wide research solutions in time for the 2008-2009 Upfront season.

LATV adds New York, Chicago and Dallas.

LATV announced a distribution partnership with Tribune Broadcasting, bringing major stations in New York, Chicago and Dallas into its affiliate fold. The addition of the number-one, number-three and number-six designated market areas (DMA) places LATV in front of nine million additional television households.

Televisa vs. Univision trial delayed till July 1, 2008.

Based on the request of both Televisa and Univision, the trial that was set to commence today has been postponed until July 1, 2008. Could it be that there is a back room deal being negotiated?
