Alonso gone from Clear Channel Hispanic Radio.

Alfredo Alonso – Senior Vice President of Clear Channel Hispanic Radio who helped establish the company’s Hispanic focused radio formats in key markets left the company at the end of 2010.

Industry insiders speculate that Clear Channel will be reducing the number of Hispanic focused radio stations in their line-up.

Nielsen Ending U.S. Radio Ratings

According to Radio Ink, in a brief announcement, the Nielsen Co. says it is leaving the U.S. radio ratings business.

MRC withdraws accreditation for Arbitron RADAR and Nationwide Services.

Arbitron Inc. announced that the Media Rating Council, Inc. (MRC) has withdrawn its accreditation for the Company’s RADAR (Radio’s All Dimension Audience Research) and Nationwide network and national radio audience services.

Univision Radio signs signed multi-year contract for Arbitron PPM Radio Rating Services.

Arbitron Inc. announced that Univision Radio has signed multi-year contracts for Arbitron’s Portable People Meter (PPM™) radio ratings services in twelve markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, San Jose, Dallas, Miami, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Antonio and Austin. These twelve markets are served by 44 Univision Radio stations. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Gary Stone – COO of Univision Radio steps down at the end of 2010.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that Gary Stone, president and chief operating officer of Univision Radio, will retire from the Company at the end of the year after more than 40 years in the radio industry, and after 25 years at Univision Radio and its predecessor, Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation.

Pascual Amorrosta appointed Chief Marketing Officer of Grupo PRISA.

Miguel Angel Pascual Amorrosta, current Director of Marketing and Communications for Unión Radio has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of Grupo PRISA.

Delkáder named President of the radio division of PRISA.

Augusto Delkáder has been named President of Union Radio, the radio division of PRISA, and President of SER – Sociedad Española de Radiodifusión (Spanish Broadcasting Company), replacing Ignacio Polanco. Delkáder was until now CEO of both companies, a position in which he will be replaced by Javier Pons, who joined the company in March this year as Deputy Managing Director.
