Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (“SBS”) announced that Spanish-language radio station WXDJ-FM has been ranked as the highest biller in a major U.S. market, setting a precedent for the Hispanic media industry.

Univision Completes Acquisition Of Entravision Radio Stations In SF/SJ Markets.

Univision Communications Inc. and Entravision Communications Corporation announced that on January 1, 2006, they completed the previously announced acquisition by Univision of radio stations KBRG(FM) and KLOK(AM) serving the San Francisco/San Jose, California market from Entravision for $90 million.

SBS Fined For EEO Violation By FCC.

According to Inside radio, Spanish Broadcasting System was fined $20,000 for an EEO violation In Los Angeles. It’s a not-so-gentle reminder from the FCC about #1, recruiting for every full-time vacancy (and not just using the Internet). And #2, doing the self-assessment process – which would’ve caught the problem at KDAY/KDAI, KXOL and KLAX earlier. The Commission does renew the licenses of all four FMs.
