The One Real Objection @ Burke’s Business Builders.

If you’re in the business of selling, then you’re in the business of overcoming objections. In media selling, we hear objections daily from prospects and clients. If you’re in management, you also have to handle objections from your staff. (I think more selling goes on in building than outside the building. Try rolling out a new compensation plan and tell me you’re not in high sales mode.) If you’re selling Hispanic media, you’re probably going to hear more objections than your general market counterparts. I’m sure this is not new news to you.

The Little Blue Box @ Burke’s Business Builders.

Have you ever given much thought to buying a gift at Tiffany’s? I’m sure some of you have only seen the store from afar, while others may have ventured in and even bought something. What is it about the little blue box the gift comes in that’s so magical? I think it’s a couple of things actually. First, the receiver of the gift knows that it’s something special because they only sell “special” things at Tiffany’s. And the giver of the gift knows that he/she will get the appropriate adoration that goes with giving something of such stature.

Los Angeles Radio – Billion Dollar Baby.

In 2004, the Los Angeles Metro Radio market (Los Angeles and Orange Counties) once again exceeded $1 Billion in revenue according to the SCBA, based on individual station reports. The 59 commercial stations on 53 formats that are home to the metro put $1.045 billion in advertising on the air in 2004. That’s up slightly, by about 1%, over 2003, which marked the first time in history that a radio market exceeded $1 Billion in revenue in a year.
