Tapestry names new Officers.

Four Tapestry execs were elevated to VP/SVP levels, as announced by Monica Gadsby, CEO of SMG Multicultural, a division of Starcom MediaVest Group.

Jackie Bird has departed from her post as CEO of New York based Wing Latino. She is being replaced by Alain Groenendaal who was the General Manager of Miami based La Comunidad.

This comes on the heals of a management change at Grey Puerto Rico were Andres Claudio replaces Hector Ortiz as President. Mr. Ortiz replaced Ms. Bird when she was promoted to start Wing Latino in New York. Mr. Claudio join Grey Puerto Rico from McCann Puerto Rico.

Levenson & Hill has been selected by Azteca Mobile to develop strategic media services for the wireless company’s pioneering mobile and radio services at the border between the United States and Mexico.

Dieste out of batteries.

Dallas based Dieste Harmel & Partners announced that they have resigned the Interstate Batteries account due to strategic difference between the agency’s focus and the client’s needs. According to the agency,the agency managed general market work on behalf of the client and the move responds to Dieste’s desire to strategically focus all resources on Hispanic and multicultural work.

BB&T introduces Spanish-language advertising campaign.

BB&T Corporation said it has introduced a multimedia Spanish-language advertising campaign developed with Miami-based Machado Garcia-Serra Communications (MGS), BB&T’s Hispanic advertising agency of record.

Gassert named Media Department Leader at Dieste.

Hispanic ad agency Dieste announced the appointment of Scott Gassert as media general manager. Gassert is now part of the agency’s leadership team, reporting to executive director of integration Alvaro Cabrera.
