The Dodge Brand marks its return to multicultural marketing and advertising with a new TV campaign, “Secret Door,” aimed at the Hispanic market. 2010 Consumer New Media Study

Even as new media adoption explodes – up 48 percent from 2009 – loyal followers can be hard to come by for companies trying to reach consumers online. With the world’s most loved brands a click of the mouse away, new media users still choose to demonstrate affinity (e.g., “like” on Facebook, “follow” on Twitter or subscribe to an RSS feed) for an average of only 4.6 companies online, making this club one of the most exclusive to which a company can hope to gain access. These are among the findings of Cone’s latest research, the 2010 Cone Consumer New Media Study.

Mark Lopez leaves Terra to join Google.

Mark Lopez will step down as Chief Operations Officer of Terra.com effective November 12, 2010. Lopez served in this capacity since October of 2007.

Large Companies Highly Optimistic about Ability to Ride out a Slow Recovery.

North America’s largest companies are expecting a slow economic recovery without a second recession, according to the Deloitte CFO Signals quarterly survey, which tracks the thinking and actions of chief financial officers representing many of North America’s largest and most influential companies. Nearly 80 percent of CFOs at companies surveyed for Deloitte’s third quarter CFO Signals survey also said that their companies are planning for a “U-shaped” recovery, with two-thirds expecting a wide-bottomed “U” or “bathtub-shaped” recovery. Only 9 percent expect a “W-shaped” or “double-dip” recovery.
