AHAA questions controversial Hispanic Ad Agency selection process & decision by The Home Depot

Multiple AHAA member agencies participated in the recent Hispanic-specialized agency search and review process conducted by The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer. The Hispanic advertising agencies – many small businesses – invested significant time, resources and funds only to realize the process may have been disregarded in the final selection.

AHAA to launch new website on Tuesday March 30, 2010.

The Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) will launch its new Web site on Tuesday, March 30th. The site will feature a new look, a special Members-Only area and an online discussion platform.

ANA, ABM, Booz & Company join forces to conduct B-To-B Research study.

The ANA (Association of National Advertisers), American Business Media (ABM) and Booz & Company have joined forces to conduct a major business-to-business research study. The study’s objective is to determine what sets marketing leaders apart across industry sectors, based on their marketing objectives, their spend priorities and the focus of their capability-building efforts.

CMO Council launches LatAM Advisory Board.

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council – a global group of 5,000 senior executives controlling more than $125 billion in annual marketing spend – is expanding its reach and presence in Latin America with a new advisory board and assessment of marketing credibility and effectiveness in the region. The regional group will draw senior marketer representation from some 27 predominantly Spanish, French and Portuguese-speaking countries with a total population of over 569 million.

Telemundo Network wins at NAMIC 2009 Excellence in Multicultural Marketing awards.

Telemundo was awarded first place in the grassroots marketing category by the National Association for Multi-ethnicity In Communications (NAMIC) as part of their 2009 Excellence in Multi-cultural Marketing Awards (EMMA) competition. Telemundo received the honor for their six market talent tour, which promoted the popular telenovela Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso and worked to create buzz for the new novela El Rostro de Analia.

Hispanic Public Relations Association honors Industry’s Best.

The Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA), a non-profit organization founded to advance the careers of Hispanics in the field of communications, celebrated a night of excellence at its annual PRemio Awards & Scholarship Gala on Thursday, October 8, at The Highlands in Hollywood.

ANA Announces 2009 Multicultural Excellence Award Winners.

The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) has announced the winners of the 2009 Multicultural Excellence Awards. Now in its ninth year, the awards recognize ANA member companies and other marketers for their work in producing superior multicultural advertising campaigns that ran between June 2008 and May 2009.

Winners were named in seven categories, including a new category highlighting exceptional work in radio advertising.

NAMIC Winners of 2009 Excellence in Multi-cultural Marketing Awards.

The National Association for Multi-ethnicity In Communications (NAMIC)announced the winners of its 2009 Excellence in Multi-cultural Marketing Awards (EMMA) competition. Showcasing top Marketing Tactics and Case Studies/Campaigns targeted to multi-cultural audiences, the awards will be presented at the 23rd Annual NAMIC Conference. Scheduled for October 26-28, 2009, the 23rd Annual NAMIC Conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt in Denver, Colorado.

Horacio Gavilán who serves as the Executive Director of the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) was honored by the Board of Directors of AHAA for ten years of service to the organization and the Industry.
