According to Al Aguilar, chairman and CEO of San Antonio, Texas-based Creative Civilization, and the creator of the famous “Go Spurs Go” playoffs mantra, basketball and public relations have a lot in common. In accepting an invitation by the Public Relations Society of America, Laredo Chapter to present his experiences as the long time advertising agency for the San Antonio Spurs, Aguilar shared an advertising historical review and was inspired to draw on basketball analogies to illustrate his public relations insights in a simple and memorable way.

National Women’s History Month’s roots go back to March 8, 1857, when women from New York City factories staged a protest over working conditions. International Women’s Day was first observed in 1909, but it wasn’t until 1981 that Congress established National Women’s History Week during the second week of March. MediaMonitors has just released the Top 10 Hispanic advertiser on Hispanic Radio. Univision Network and TeleFutura Network are two of the Top 10 advertisers. But, we must realize the shortcoming of the MediaMonitors research. They do not take into account dollars spent, but spots that ran. In other words, Univision Network and TeleFutura ran significant number of spots on their Owned and Operated radio stations, as did Liberman Broadcasting, that equated to the same levels of spots purchased by the other seven advertisers. Not a appropriate comparison.
So, we know who the ‘REAL’ Top 7 advertisers in Hispanic Radio are! Who are 11, 12 or 13 to round out the Top 10?

Among U.S. adults who say they are familiar with them, the American Red Cross, AARP, The Nature Conservancy and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are the most trusted among 14 large organizations measured, according to a new Harris Poll. Conversely, the National Rifle Association, the AFL-CIO and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) are the least trusted. These organizations have a great deal of influence affecting many public policy discussions in and around the Nation’s Capitol.
