A CMO’s Guide to Zero-Party Data

By now, almost every CMO should have a mandate to acquire more first party data (if not, please call me ASAP). Marketing Automation Is a Cost-Effective Paradigm Shift

Marketing automation has all too often been looked at as a "nice to have" for companies. Yet, those exact same companies often find reasons to complain about organizational inefficiency and its pressures on their balance sheets. In stating the obvious that protecting margins is truly paramount for brand marketers, while improving performance and service levels, then automation would seem to be a "must have" that is central to resource allocations.
Be Kind, Rewind

Way back when life was simple, we merely needed to remember to return the VHS rentals on time and, of course, to “be kind and rewind.” The video store new-release wall was our news source for the latest content, and you could buy some artificial butter-flavored microwave popcorn at the checkout counter. Movie release windows were also rather straightforward, so we could expect to find a movie at the video store six months after its theatrical release.

What is design thinking?

Design and conquer: in years past, the word “design” might have conjured images of expensive handbags or glossy coffee table books. Now, your mind might go straight to business. Design and design thinking are buzzing in the business community more than ever. Until now, design has focused largely on how something looks; these days, it’s a dynamic idea used to describe how organizations can adjust their problem-solving approaches to respond to rapidly changing environments—and create maximum impact and shareholder value. Design is a journey and a destination. Design thinking is a core way of starting the journey and arriving at the right destination at the right time.
The Youth Kaleidoscope [REPORT]

To date, much of the research surrounding Gen Z and Gen Alpha presents a fairly one-dimensional view. Both groups are often portrayed as ‘freedom fighters’ rebelling against systems and structures they have inherited. But much of this sentiment inadvertently puts pressure on these young people to conform and doesn’t look to their individual and nuanced characteristics. It presumes young people to be a uniform monolith instead of a generation pulsating with ideas and passions for their futures.
Mastering the In-House Agency Evaluation

What is influencer marketing?

Influencer marketing is a collaboration between popular social-media users and brands to promote brands’ products or services. These partnerships have been going on informally since the dawn of social media. By 2009, they were sufficiently commonplace for the US Federal Trade Commission to step in and regulate them through the so-called Mommy Blogger law. (China, India, and the United Kingdom have introduced similar regulations.)
