To Ramp Up Marketing Efforts – GM Puts Social in Front Seat.

For the past few years, General Motors has managed its efforts on Facebook, Twitter, blogs, online video and other social media activities from within its communications group. In 2011, GM will be moving social media marketing into its brand groups. Christopher Barger, global director of social media, spoke with eMarketer principal analyst Debra Aho Williamson about the challenges of this transition, how GM allots budget for social media within digital marketing, and what measurements the company needs to have in place to increase spending on social media marketing.

U.S. Online Hispanic Consumers more likely to have Positive Association with Advertising.

comScore, Inc. released results of a study of U.S. Hispanic consumers, including insights into their online behavior and engagement with advertising. The study found that U.S. online Hispanic consumers’ sentiment towards, and response to, advertising often varies significantly from Non-Hispanic online consumers, providing critically important insights for brands looking to reach and engage this dynamic consumer segment.

Univision testified before Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet of Senate

As Congress considers this issue, it is critical that the market incentives that made these deals possible are preserved.”

Gary Stone – COO of Univision Radio steps down at the end of 2010.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that Gary Stone, president and chief operating officer of Univision Radio, will retire from the Company at the end of the year after more than 40 years in the radio industry, and after 25 years at Univision Radio and its predecessor, Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation.
